Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student had no homework and was caught up on all previous assignments. We reviewed work from the week with supplemental book work."
"Rational functions and their graphs (domain, range, vertical/horizontal asymptote, limit, intercepts, and holes)."
"We first reviewed topics covered in last weeks session - LCM, GCF, and prime numbers. Then we worked on new material she had covered in class - multiplication of large numbers."
"We worked on finding quantities of percentages, reviewed converting percents into decimals and fractions, and started working on how to find the average of a set of numbers. I assigned him work in the textbook and the workbook for next week."
"During this session, I had the student do a multiplication facts "check up" to see how she was doing in knowing her math facts. After about 15 minutes, she completed two columns, so we moved on to play Multiplication Tic-Tac-Toe. That was a great brain break for her, while also getting her to work on knowing her facts in a more fun way. After we completed a round of the game, we moved on to finish up a word problem about a field trip that we had started last Thursday. With about 10 minutes left, we reviewed what she needed to study for her upcoming geography test."
"The student continued to work on designing a mini golf course using her protractor to measure angles. She seemed to really enjoy it. I also had her measure a few angles that had already been drawn, and she made some mistakes with the acute angles by reading the protractor incorrectly. She understood what she did wrong, so I just reminded her to check her work before moving on to the next problem so she doesn't make mistakes like that!"
