Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we did a timed full length computer adaptive quantitative section. The student scored a scaled score of 28/60. There were a number of simple arithmetic errors that impacted her score. We will review combinations, permutations, and functions at our next session."
"This week and last week, the student and I covered different types of Quantitative math problems. We mostly went over questions that she came across during her own study time and had trouble understanding on her own. We also talked about a general study plan for her moving forward in preparation for a January test date. We will continue to study Quantitative problems as well as any other GMAT question types she needs help with in future sessions."
"We had our first session today. The student brought one of the quant books, and we went over some problems. I was able to get a sense for how he goes through specific problems. We covered a variety of topics, including probability, geometry, and numbers. He will be taking the diagnostic test before we meet next. I will also bring some more problems."
"The student sent me a list of problems to work through ahead of the lesson, and we did. Those questions allowed us to discuss a few related topics, primarily factorization and the usefulness of prime factors. We also discussed general strategy and the overall difficulty pattern of an adaptive test."
"The student and I went through the entirety of the diagnostic exam, and I believe she learned a lot. Some of the geometric problems are worth reviewing, as are the financial ones and the one probability question. In the meantime, start the GMAT practice book."
"The student and I continued to review the hard quant set covering advanced arithmetic and number theory. She continues to perform well, coming up with creative ways to approach some of these difficult problems. I assigned her the balance of the set for homework. We will start next session by detailing an approach to the hard math questions."
