"I outlined study plans and materials for the student. She noted she had previously taken the MCAT twice before, but there was a significant improvement from the first time to the second time; if this trend holds it would be possible to continue improvement to well above the expected improvement score. There needs to be mild improvements in PS and BS to bump up scores from a 9 and 8 to 10+, respectively, but it is very possible to improve these scores to 11 or higher. Regarding her performance in the verbal section, it will require practice to improve the scores from 6 to 10+, but it is certainly possible. I had given the student material for verbal strategies. She dedicates ~20h/week to her current internship schedule and has noted that she should have plenty of time for studying. I recommended content review for PS and BS sections on days when she has ~3-5 hours to dedicate to studying. When she's pressed for time, I recommended doing a VR practice section which should take ~2 hours to complete and review. We were not able to delve into much content review at this time. The first meeting was primarily dedicated to planning a study schedule and determining which resources to use."
"We introduced ourselves and went over the previous MCAT administration and the results of his practice exams. We discussed particular areas of concern then formulated a plan for going forward: -Use the books as a new source of study material. Focus more energy on the higher-yield material within the books. -Take at least three practice exams before Test Day. Take the first one on Friday, focusing on Physical and Biological Sciences sections. Make sure to note which sections or passages are most difficult and need review. -On Saturday, have an online session. We can use the first hour to go over the results of the practice test and use the second hour to review specific content. Possible areas to cover include eukaryotic cell structure, Mendelian genetics, and E & M."
