"The student was working on problems with torque and static equilibrium, and doing some really involved problems with both. Once we got into the swing of determining how to choose rotation axes and assign signs to torques, she seemed to work with the math very well and see the geometrical relationships very easily. I think that, with some practice on other problems, she will be well prepared for whatever the test throws at her."
"The student and I discussed acid-base equilibrium, strategies to calculating the pH and pOH without using a calculator and just by looking at the [H+] concentration. How to calculate the initial and final concentration of a weak acid + strong conjugate base and a strong acid + weak conjugate base. We also discussed how to determine what constitutes as a good buffer, how to calculate the concentration using molarity and strong vs weak acids and bases."
"We worked on preparing for the student's science exam for Tuesday. We worked on a chemical reactions and balancing equations worksheet. We then discussed how to approach the problems and how to balance the equations."
