Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student brought me up to speed with what his class has covered so far this year, it has been mostly review up to this point. The student had just taken a test and said that it went okay, but not great. We are still awaiting the results. He mentioned that his major study technique has been just to go over his notes in his notebook from class to study, but he feels like he sometimes misses important concepts and then suffers on the test/quiz. I mentioned to him that flash cards can be a big help to re-organize and give yourself a fresh outlook on studying. They're also easy to carry with you to study on the go. We worked through some grammar from his textbook which covered adjective endings and all the different scenarios for using them. The student seemed very capable of following and understanding the grammar lesson and said he felt confident about the material."
"We covered the Bundeslaender, vocabulary about weather, activity words, and so on from his class. We also discussed pronunciation and ended the lesson with a reading comprehension and questions."
"In this lesson, we focused a bit more on the student's listening skills within a conversation. Topics included work environment and climate, social events and hobbies. Within the conversation, we focused on word order, participles and conjunctions (ob, als, wenn)."
