Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
" Today was our first session together. We became familiar with each other. I went over a large amount of sight words and kept a pile of the words that she knew and the words that she wasn't familiar with. the student was able to read two books to me. She was able to sound out the words she didn't know. She seemed very enthusiastic and was a pleasure to work with."
"The student is doing well with his sight words and sounding them out. Since learning them is based on rote memorization, we're just doing drills. He's still hesitant about reading, but we acted out a book today to work on his comprehension."
"The student started the session by reading a first grade-level book. She did a very good job and is improving on the fluency. I reminded her that she knows very many words by sight and should rely on this and not use the sounding out quite as often. We worked on initial consonants and rhyming endings. I am pleased with the reading effort. We will take next week off, as she will be on spring break."
