Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In our second session the student and I spent a lot of time working through some practice problems and reviewing information that had been covered in the weeks he missed. Before our session, I looked through the "learning targets" that his teacher had assigned for each day of their class, and I found some information and practice for him to do based on each objective. Most of the information was review, but it was a good way for him to cover everything in a short period of time. Obviously more practice would be even more helpful, but we wanted to get through a lot of information. When we reached the section on isotopes, we spent more time both learning the material and practicing it because this was an unfamiliar topic. For next week we discussed that he would read a chapter of his textbook and try out a worksheet that his teacher assigned that we briefly went over before the end of the session. In a few days I will send him a link for the document with all the information we covered, as well as a reminder as to what he should try to do this week."
"The student and I reviewed a number of chemistry problems in preparation for the SAT chemistry subject test."
"During the session, we reviewed the student's recent acid/base titrations test. We worked through several problems that the client missed, including buffer, simple dissociation, and polyprotic titration questions. The student then worked on her thermodynamics/enthalpy homework with my help."
