Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student and I worked on CDF and PDF, integrations calculus II concepts. She had a great attitude. She really wants to learn. I mentioned she should create an equation sheet to help her memorize the equations."
"We began by reviewing the student's quiz on binomial probability and then delved into review for her final exam. We got through reviewing measures of center and spread as well as linear regression. We will continue with her review for her final at our next session."
"The student is feeling more comfortable with z-distribution and hypothesis testing, so we moved on to t-distribution and confidence intervals. We did practice problems and discussed the relationship between critical values and interval estimates."
"The client is taking a research methods course and this week was introduced to conditional probability, binomial distributions, and the Poisson distribution. He is completely new to this material, so we walked through his instructor's PowerPoint slide by slide and parsed all of the equations and terminology related to probability. Afterwards, he said that the concepts made much more sense and we will continue to practice at our next session."
"The homework the student worked on included interpreting graphs of a normal distribution, relating the normal distribution to the standard normal distribution (via z-scores), and applying the theories to 'real life' problems."
"The student worked on her research paper and presentation today. We worked mostly on the results section. I helped her learn how to interpret the ANOVA test and confidence interval that we calculated for her paper. We also spent a lot of time cleaning up the paper and organizing the flow of it. In the final hour we spent some time reworking and organizing the slides for her presentation. This was the final session before she had to turn everything in."
