Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I did a review for his chapter 7 test on Wednesday. We were able to completely review 7.1. It dealt with conversions of degrees to radians, converting time to degrees decimal, arc length, sector area, linear velocity and angular velocity. After our session today I felt like he is very strong with this section. I have suggested a few more practice problems for this section and he needs to focus on the rest of the chapter. I have seen great progress and he will be ready for his test with sufficient preparation."
"I met with the student and went through various levels of algebra and pre-algebra with him. He may have a test on Monday, so we practiced problems as well as reviewed things he felt comfortable with. He needs to work on graphing, y=mx +b format, and word problems related to it, LCM and GCF. We looked through all these subjects, and he did well with the material. I requested he review the various things we went over."
"The student worked on the algebra homework for translation and tessellation of figures in a Cartesian plane. She needed help with attention to detail while moving both the x and y coordinates. She made a 100 on her previous homework and felt good about her quiz. She had a fantastic week with time management and organization in recording all of her assignments."
"The student worked on her homework which was on factoring polynomials, solving polynomial equations, factoring out a common binomial, factor by grouping, factor completely, and problem solving. She has a test on Wednesday. She understands the concepts - it was a lot of homework with work to be shown."
"Today the student did the following work involving parabolas: finding the vertex given an equation, table, or graph; graphing a parabola given a table or equation; and finding the equations for parabolas given a graph or table. He did very well. He understood everything we went over and was solving the problems confidently."
"The student took a test last week which went well. We completed some supplementary work that I sent her. This covered basic area, perimeter, length, and width of rectangles. I then had her start a retake of the assessment we did when we first started, so I can start collecting data to determine improvement and where we should start going next."
