Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We did several problems on finding the equilibrium point for supply and demand functions, the consumer surplus, and the producer surplus. The student picked it up quickly."
"The student and I completed 21 calculus problems from a practice exam. We reviewed limits, behavior, L'Hopital's rule, and the chain rule."
"The student and I worked through her calculus homework on the mean value theorem and the first derivative test. We have agreed that we should focus on just calculus for the rest of the semester. Physics is going well and she thinks she did well on her last physics exam. She is getting an A in physics."
"During our session, the student and I finished working through all of his current assignments, ending with a section on the application of L'Hopital's Rule. We started by discussing any relevant new material in his physics class, and then switched over to his calculus problems, which required the use of L'Hopital's rule to evaluate various different limits. We started by reviewing the text at the beginning of the section, along with a few examples, and then we began working through the assigned problems. After learning the basic procedure for applying L'Hopital's rule, he worked through every problem correctly, taking the derivative of the numerator and denominator in order to reevaluate the limit. He has an upcoming worksheet on L'Hopital's rule to be assigned soon and he already seems to understand the principle very well."
"The student and I covered chapter 4.1, which was integration. We did several problems from his homework and he barely needed my help! I also am going to look into algebra techniques to help with his exam since that is what needs the most attention. He has the rest of his chapter four homework to work on between now and our next session Friday."
"Today the student finished a homework on Riemann sums, antiderivatives, and then did several optimization problems from the book."
