Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session, we finished up the student's online problems. The problem set was comprised of difficult modeling: Hooke's law, arc length, surface areas, and some volumetric modeling methods. I think that she was gaining a good understanding of the material this morning. She is doing a great job!"
"The student had worksheets ready, and we went over simplifying radicals and exponential expressions. We discussed several problems with binomial expressions and rationalizing the denominator. She feels good about everything she's learning right now, and imaginary numbers will be covered soon. She has a good math sense and is able to work out problems easily once she knows what to do. We also went over a probability problem from her last unit."
"The student and I worked on a study guide and review packet for a quiz she will be taking Monday. We covered finding and comparing square roots, angles, unknown angles in triangles and classifying triangles. She understands how to find square roots. She is able to figure out triangle classification. I would encourage her to memorize the rules. I explained the examples of finding angles using ratios. She was attentive and followed along."
"We conducted a review of practice questions of concepts that focused on the areas of polynomials, trigonometric functions, factoring quadratic function, finding zeroes within an equations, and complex numbers."
"Homework - Finding Area. the student had to solve problems involving measurement and conversion of measurements from a larger unit to a smaller unit. After working together to review his worksheets. We reviewed concepts covered from his class curriculum in preparation for his upcoming FSA testing. the student was focused and had a good attitude towards the review."
"The student was a little confused about what was being asked in his problems and how to go about solving them. I went over his questions in detail and broke it down so that he could figure out what form of induction would be needed. The student had no problem handling the induction once he knew the direction to take. We went over more problems to make sure the student had an understanding of the material. He informed me that he passed his last test and is doing much better in the class. He seems to be more confident in his abilities."
