Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We translated a segment from Cicero's Brutus in which he lamented the poor state of oratory in his day. The student then did the self-tutoring exercises in the back of the book."
"Today, the student and I focused on reviewing noun declension forms in preparation for her midterm. She knows her endings quite well for the 1st and 2nd declensions; she still has some difficulty recognizing/identifying endings in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th. We did a lot of practice, but I also recommended that she do some more using an online declension generator. We also did some translation practice; however, she was confused about which translations will be on her midterm. I recommended that she contact a classmate tonight so that she could prepare if there is a specific translation from her textbook that will be on the exam."
"We went over third and fourth declension cases, including how to identify nouns within those cases and how to delineate between neuter, masculine and feminine nouns. We worked with sentences and identified grammatical parts and syntactical structure. We worked with prepositions and what cases they required. We discussed study strategies for the coming week. I will email the student some charts to practice on his own."
