Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student recently had a test and did well. We spent time discussing osteogenesis in detail (bone formation, cartilage formation, bone matrix and bone destruction) and looked ahead to the next lecture covering muscle formation. She is also working on a fascinating assignment that has the potential to give her a great test grade. We discussed how to write her lab report for this lab assignment (hypothesis, background, results, analysis, conclusion). I look forward to hearing how this assignment was graded at our next session."
"Because the student just started on spring break, we didn't go over any specific concepts, but rather started taking some practice questions to help familiarize him with the exam. He struggled with some of the biochemistry and physiology portions of the exam but that is because he has not taken chemistry at all and has not learned the physiology section in class yet. However, I believe that with some more time and practice, he should understand those topics. I suggested that he reread the chapter on biochemistry and start creating flowcharts so that he can better understand the big picture of topics that he encounters. No major concerns, but rather a win in that the student was able to remember his topics of evolution which he went over at the beginning of the school year and answer those questions flawlessly. It makes me confident that with some time and practice, he should pass his AP exam."
"The student and I covered some rotational motion for his sessions today. The questions were partially from AP exams, so this was good practice for him on his AP exam. He followed along well, and answered questions correctly with little to no hesitation."
