Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session, we began with a review of density calculations and a worksheet on reading graduated cylinders. The student had a bit of trouble reading the graduated cylinders, but improved after I emphasized using the graduations to find the bounds of what the possible answer could be. We then moved on to a review of phase transitions. We discussed the various phase changes and the role of energy in these processes. We focused on the concept that temperature remains constant during a transition. Lastly, we completed a worksheet on valence electrons and ions. He was comfortable with all of this later material."
"We covered acid and bases, and it went great. We had 5 problems to go through, and they took a while due to the nature of the calculations, but all those provided us a good learning opportunity, and I got to cover most of the concepts by teaching the problems for the student."
"We covered balancing redox reactions in acidic and basic solutions, basic voltaic/ galvanic cell problems and how to draw them, and did one non-standard conditions/ Nernst equation problem. I supplied some sample problems from my worksheet to the student and he provided some homework problems. He mentioned that he had a test on Tuesday, so we'll work through more problems tomorrow night. Problems went well, no complaints."
