"The student and I went over simplifying radical expressions, operations with radicals, and equations with radicals. He was grasping the concepts pretty well, but we spent most of our time going over how to simplify radical expressions that contain fractions underneath the radicand. His last test is the Friday and then we will begin to study for the final test."
"The student and I reviewed for his upcoming Algebra 2 test on conic sections by doing practice problems that his teacher passed out in class. Although he has been maintaining an A average in the class, conic sections is one of the hardest chapters, and he seemed to need some additional practice to fully understand how to use various formulas.
After our session, I recommended that the student create a formula table, separated by the conic shape, that will help him compare and contrast among the shapes. I also told him to do some additional problems that his teacher provided but did not mandate."
"We did many practice problems on logs/exponents to solidify her skills. We learned annuity and money value concepts and practiced those extensively. I left her with enough practice in preparation for our last session tomorrow before her exam on Thursday."

Once the concepts were reexplained, he had no problems with answering questions and arriving at the correct answer. We will be meeting later this week upon the decision from his father. His final for algebra is next Tuesday, so I would like to get in another session before his exam. He feels prepared for the exams and has a better grasp on the concepts."
