Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We completed the student's Daily 10 and began working on her geometry review. We need to work on solving multi-step equations"
"Today, the student and I reviewed some of the topics from last week. We also reviewed the differences between rational and irrational numbers and how to prove whether a number is rational or not. Then, she asked me if I could help review some of her physics homework--she is working on simple machines and we talked about pulleys for a bit. She didn't have any homework for the upcoming week, but says she is starting a new math topic on Monday."
"The student and I worked on preparing for his make-up math test this Friday. In addition to previous topics, we covered basic polynomial terms, set operations, absolute value, and number theory. I feel he is well prepared for this exam, and I look forward to seeing the results of his work next week!"
"The student worked on his subtraction facts and we went over a recent math chapter review. He also completed his homework that is due tomorrow. I hope that the next session we will be able to work on his handwriting and his fluency and reading comprehension."
"I worked with the student on a.m. and p.m. time. I also introduced quarter after and quarter to the hour. He was able to identity and show correct times when asked and understood a.m. and p.m. I also introduced multiplication using seconds, minutes, and hours. He did a great job today."
"We finished up the math portion of the student's packet for school, and then proceeded to spend the rest of the session on multiplication. I hope by next week, she'll be more comfortable and have an easier time coming up with the answers for the multiplication table. Since we started, she has improved greatly and gained more confidence, which was very important to both the mother and I."
