Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I finished her review packet today. Primary focus included long division of polynomials, simplifying complex radical expressions, and reviewing log and exponent rules and identities."
"We discussed limits and continuity. She was very prepared for our session and we started off with questions from the material she had reviewed since our last session."
"We went through graph analysis based on differential rules and principles. We mastered some of the differential concepts by solving multiple questions."
"We covered integrals and solved practice problems. The student was initially struggling with understanding integral concepts and how to approach a problem. By the end, she understood the concept and started solving problems by herself."
"The student did excellent work over the past week reviewing quadratic functions. Today we began by solving a few logarithmic and exponential equations. I then reviewed trigonometric functions which she had never had before. I discussed the unit circle, degrees to radians, radians to degree, definition of the six trigonometric functions, law of sines, law of cosines, and inverse trigonometric functions. This is a bunch of information to process. She will work problems over the next week on logarithmic/ exponential equations as well as trigonometric functions. Before leaving I quickly reviewed the volume/ surface area of prisms/ cylinders and cones/ pyramids."
"We covered some properties of integration and discussed methods of solving certain integrals. These methods include variable substitution and trigonometric substitution. The student does very well with the calculations. The only trouble he has is figuring out where to start on certain problems. We talked about how to identify what kind of integral we are dealing with to know what kind of approach to take when solving it."
