Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed terms relating to birthdays in Germany. I also reviewed vocabulary words listed in the chapter with him and had him repeat after me. We discussed singular and plural forms for many of his words. I told him that there was no set fast hard rule for how to construct plural forms in German. We worked on his pronunciation, and I asked him to identify nouns and tell me what the corresponding articles were."
"I worked with the student primarily on prepositions, and then I started introducing certain expressions that take accusative prepositions (and also have reflexive verbs). Verbs with separable prefixes are also something we have to work on. He definitely gets the concepts, such as 2-way prepositions, yet we will continue to practice. I think one more session regarding prepositions will be necessary. I want to make sure that we cover more about verbs with separable prefixes. Also, he seems to get the basics about putting verbs in the past tense."
"Today, Student 1 and I began by having him read through his Antolin book. I did not help him in terms of finding the answers, and he still was able to get 10/10 when I pointed him to the correct page to find the answer. Student 2 and I worked the entire time on finding numbers in a hundreds chart. Student 1 then played vocabulary games with help from me, while Student 2 and I worked on our numbers."
