Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We met Thursday, November 14th from 4-5:30pm. We just reviewed all of the geometry that we had gone over. We got through the material relatively quickly and any question I threw at him, he could answer quickly and correctly. He had the quadratic formula memorized, but was still having some underlying issues with algebra, so I was going to look into more worksheets to help correct this issue. Other than that he is doing great!"
"First, the student and I went through the differences between quadrilaterals, parallelograms, trapezoids, kites, rhombi, rectangles, and squares. We made a diagram looking at their similarities and differences. We then went through some practice problems identifying types of quadrilaterals. Then we looked at practice problems using different theorems about parallelograms and their properties."
"Today we worked on Pythagorean Theorem, as well as properties of Pythagorean triples and how to calculate them. We also covered 30-60-90 and 45-45 triangles and their special properties. We will continue to work on this during our next session. As this is a new topic, she needed help for a lot of problems but she understood the material a lot better after today's session."
"Most of this session was spent preparing the student for his upcoming test. We looked at various patterns and techniques for finding the pattern. He did well with visual patterns but had to work a little harder for the numerical patterns. We ended with a brief review of logical statements."
"We worked on the student's Geometry chapter review assignment. In preparation for his chapter 4 test, we reviewed concepts such as 2 column proofs, triangle congruent postulates/theorems, and algebraic equations."
"The student received an A on her last test!! We worked on some problems dealing with special right triangles i.e.. 45-45-90 and 30-60-90. She understands the relationships of the sides and how to find them. We then looked forward to the next section and started discussing trig functions."
