Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session, we went over a study sheet to help prepare the student for his upcoming biology exam. We reviewed key terms and diagrams for the lymphatic, immune, and respiratory systems. He was least confident with the immune system, so we spent most of our time going over the different types of immune responses and the specific cells involved. We created a study plan, so that he can do some reviewing over the weekend before his test. Lastly, we covered some unit conversions, focusing on writing out the complete conversion factor and canceling units."
"The student had questions dealing with conservation of energy and the work energy theorem,. Her problems involved several other subjects, including projectile motion, kinematics, and friction. There were a lot of old formulas to remember, but she is a good natured and good humored student, and was able to pick up the basics by the time we got to the end of most problems."
"In this session, the student and I went ahead and covered thermochemistry. We went over the three laws of thermodynamics, kinetics vs thermodynamics, entropy, Gibbs free energy, and equilibrium in terms of Gibbs free energy. While it was a lot of lecturing, when working on the problems, the student was able to easily deal with the problems."
