Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"For this lesson, the student and I worked through human resources and marketing and planned what to review and study to prepare for exams in the coming week."
"Today we worked on using different software for statistical modeling and output. In particular, the assignment was to be done in SPSS, but because it is such a difficult program to use, we also focused on how to do the equivalent tasks in Excel. By seeing the similarities and differences between the functionalities of the two programs, the student got a sense of how to generalize statistical modeling. He felt that knowing how to do the same operations in Excel would be a valuable toolset to have for any kind of finance job he might enter, so I think we will also work further to incorporate that into our sessions. I left him with the end of the assignment, which simply asked him to pull specific data from the reports. Overall, he became more and more comfortable with using the programs, and was much more willing to explore them by the end of the session."
"We went over the exam practice sheet, so that the student could have a better sense of how to identify types of problems and choose formulas accordingly. I went over all the formulas on the sheet and also the steps for hypothesis testing."
