"Completed a homework assignment on graphing sine, cosine, secant, and cosecant functions and identifying their amplitude, period, and phase shift. With the remaining time we did extra problems in from the book to reinforce the concepts. These included problems similar to the homework problems as well as determining possible equations to describe a graphed sinusoid."
"We reviewed how to graph complex polynomial functions without a calculator. We discussed, end behavior, multiplicity, holes, and vertical, horizontal, and slant asymptotes. We were able to work on a handout her math teacher gave her before the spring break. The student was able to solve all of the problems on the work sheet with my guidance."
"Slightly long session tonight to finish off the review packet. We covered inverse trig functions, parametric equations and polar coordinates, series and sequence, mechanics applications. Student had a good attitude as usual and didn't struggle much. Strategies focused on drawings! Some extra practice with coordinate conversion, and I hope to get her some extra over email before her test Thursday."
"Today, we completed the student's test review on matrix manipulation, and using matrices to solve problems. She has a good grasp on the material, but still needs to review word problems and reducing matrices using row manipulation. We'll work on that in our next session."
"The student and I had a great session. She is working on a new section to do with conic sections. Today we did several practice problems dealing with graphing and drawing circles and spheres in 3D space. We also worked on several problems working with vectors, dot products, angles, and unit vectors, in 2D and 3D cases."
"We solved a set of applications problems involving trigonometric functions. We used the law of sines and the laws of cosines to determine the sides of triangles. We discussed the possible solution for SSA case. We solved the problems involving two forces. Also we determined a magnitude and the coordinates of the vector using two given vectors."
