Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student just began a section in charged particles, Coulomb's Law and electrical circuits. Her comprehension of intro particle physics is sound. We focused on dissecting and understanding electrical circuits. She was confident on the relationships of voltage, resistance and current as well as how to interpret circuit diagrams, particularly series and parallel resistors. We were able to break all the information down, make the connections and feel a strong, confident start to the section. She feels comfortable with the concepts and I am excited to see her progression of comprehension at our next session."
"In this session, the student and I went ahead and covered thermochemistry. We worked on identifying endothermic and exothermic reactions. In addition, he and I covered heat capacity and phase changes. He was quick to understand how to do the calorimetry problems, but struggled a bit with understanding that it takes energy to break bonds, and that energy is released when bonds are formed. However, with a lot of practice he was able to understand and demonstrate his grasp on the material. I have no worries leaving the session and look forward to continuing to work with him."
"The student and I covered kinematics. Her main concern is understanding concepts she had difficulty with from the beginning of the year, so my plan is to cover each concept she says she is struggling with until she has a strong understanding before her AP exam. She seems to have the most problems when applying her knowledge of the problem to Physics equations. Of course, with the practice and tutoring I will be giving her, that won't be an issue for long. She definitely has the potential for a 5 on the AP exam, and I'd like her to see that as well."
