"We spent all of our session going over simplifying negative roots. She could complete the problems where there was one type of variable or a single number underneath the root sign, but if the problems contained more than that she wasn't able to answer them. I showed her how to break large and complex problems into smaller ones that were easier to complete and how to determine what the exponents would be for the variables inside and outside of the root sign. The main factor that was contributing to her difficulties was a misunderstanding of what a root symbol/exponent actually represented and the terminology associated with their use. I left her with halfway completed set of flashcards that I would like her to complete, along with any other definitions she thinks she should know."

"The student and I covered a review sheet for the entire session. We made sure to go through some of the hardest problems during the last 20 minutes. She stated that she seemed more comfortable with proofs and wanted to work on some things outside of that. As an assignment, I told her to make flashcards of the theorems on her purple handout to make sure that she words her theorems and postulates correctly for her test on Friday."
"In this session, the student shared that she was able to assist her teacher in class as the only student who understood how to calculate the coordinates of a transformation. Her confidence in her abilities has risen greatly. We discussed the many meanings of a negative sign and she practiced drawing various transformations"
"We reviewed more proof problems, mostly dealing with proofs regarding parallel lines, and utilizing theorems for each final situation to logically determine such items. There were also problems with angles of measures containing variables in certain situations, also needing theorems to set polynomials equal to each other, ultimately solving for a single variable. Then there were similar problems with two equations where two and three equations were used to solve for such variables."
"Today we reviewed Congruent Triangles again. Since he has a test over it tomorrow, we went over his quizzes and some proofs in general. Then, we moved on to his cumulative review that involved his final exam in a couple weeks."
"The student and I did some review on some of his classwork, which was mostly on Algebra and Algebrabased problems of angle relationships. He had an assessment test coming up which consists of Algebra related problems. For review, I gave him some problems to do and went over them for practice. We plan on reviewing more during our next session."

"Today we worked on solving for the angles and lengths of sides of a parallelogram. Once we finished with her math homework, we moved on to her social studies homework. She is currently studying the Declaration of Independence. We discussed the significance of various passages while completing a worksheet she had on the topic."
"The student and I met today to go over new content that she is learning in class, which happens to be Chapter 6 (parallelograms, polygons). We went over the packet that she received which details steps of each problem and is a review over the book content. She seemed more focused during this session and was able to follow along pretty well. We discussed some of the rules with polygons, reviewed supplementary (180), how external angles add to 360. For the parallelogram section, much of the review was over algebra and substitution which she is more comfortable with. We will review more next week before she has to take a test."
"The student and I worked through his unit reflection for geometry which had to do with describing the various ways to prove triangles congruent. We then started on his chapter review homework. We got through the vocab section, and then I quizzed him on the vocab."
"We covered proportions and how to apply them with different shapes including intersecting lines, 306090 triangles, 454590 triangles and triangles with bisecting lines running through them. The student struggled most with setting up a proper proportion especially when it involved a smaller shape inside a larger shape (for instance, a triangle within a triangle). I left him with a diagram to help him with 306090 triangles and 454590 triangles. I did see improvement during our session, so I have no concerns about his learning. We plan to meet on Monday to study for his test the following day."
