"Worked on reviewing assessment exam questions from previous exams. Topics included equations of a circle, law of sines and cosines, area of a triangle, solving trigonometric equations with quadratic formula, factoring, combining fractions, etc."
"We mainly focused on probability problems involving tree diagrams, Venn diagram problems involving unions and intersections, and normal distribution problems. Her IB exam is this coming Friday so we'll scheduled to meet again tomorrow. There were a couple places where she needed definition reminders of how for example a union works in Venn diagrams, so we went over that in detail. Tomorrow we'll focus on arithmetic sequences and I'll do a bit of review, prep, and practice problem gathering."
"We reviewed for the student's final exam. We went over: how to tell if a function is linear or not, solving radical equations, and functions (operations on, compositions of, transformations of, and parents). The best thing for the student is to do as much practice as possible in his packet and review how to solve quadratic equations. I sent him a couple of instructional resources for reference."
"This was an extremely long final review in which the student and I went over all of the subjects that were possibly going to be on his final. This included: completing the square, conic sections, logarithmic equations, exponential equations, graphing, factoring, simplifying radical expressions, radical equations, finding inverses of functions, finding inverses of graphs, laws of logarithms, and a partridge in a pear tree. He slogged through all of the multitude of topics admirably, and he should do fairly well."
"Today's session went well. We primarily covered graphing and solving systems of equations, and how to determine the equation of a line given different types of information. The student handled the material quite well after some practice."
"We covered the normal probability distribution and worked through problems using practice software. The student was familiar with most of the concepts and was able to easily find z-scores and the corresponding probabilities. She had a little trouble when the problem asked to find the value of X corresponding to the interquartile range. I explained that we just needed to work backwards, essentially from the probabilities to the z-scores to the values of X. She will work through some additional problems on her on that we will review next time."
