Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student wanted to review what we have done so far. The first thing we did was practice downloading pictures and saving them in her pictures folder. Then we looked at copying folders from one location to another. At the end of the session, we made folders for organizing her desktop and practiced moving the files on her desktop into one of the folders for either zip files, general files or client files. With the desktop more clear, I showed her how to change the background image."
"This was another review session for the student's upcoming exam. I reviewed how to do decimal point numbers in binary. We then worked on the IEEE-754 standard for 32-bit numbers. I provided her with some online resources and instructions, as the exam is open computer. We then discussed our plans for the next two sessions of review."
"We covered more introductory concepts, including control structures and new ground in the study of arrays. The student was very eager to learn. She has 2 labs due tomorrow. A practice test for an online midterm that will be given sometime today. And then an online midterm that will take place over the weekend. I mentioned these concepts (scanning into variable and understanding when to use loops) so she could focus on those topics when studying."
