Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed for his test tomorrow. We went over Le Chatelier's principle and all of the factors such as pressure, temp and concentration. We also went over equilibrium using ice tables. We also talked about rate laws and finding the order of a reaction. He had a great attitude. He will continue to study tonight for his exam."
"Continuing where we left off last week, the student and I spent today's lesson working through more problems on acid-base equilibria; specifically, we covered acid/base equilibrium constants, buffered solutions, titrations, and pH indicators. We also briefly touched upon solubility and solubility constants, and how to use initial concentrations to predict whether or not a precipitate will form upon the mixing of two solutions. I noticed that she has become a lot more confident at using ICE (initial-change-equilibrium) diagrams to solve equilibrium problems, which will be very helpful to her moving forward. She has two tests coming up (tomorrow and Friday), so hopefully her results on those will give some quantitative indication of her progress."
"Went over solutions for each of the ten questions/problems I had given to him as practice questions. He is still not comfortable with some of the concepts and so I tried to explain everything. Essentially, I worked more on approach to solving problems. He wanted to work on one more problem from the text book (chapter five) so we worked through that as well. I will be sending him more practice questions and we have decided to move on to chapter seven for the next session scheduled for Friday."
