Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I covered the concepts of chords, secants, arcs, segments, tangents, and angle measurements of a circle with the student."
"The student has begun a new unit on probability. Today we mostly focused on conditional probability, but then went back and reviewed previous sections of his notes. The student had forgotten a lot of the content from the previous section, especially vocabulary words. However, with some review he was able to catch on very quickly. From this point forward, we will also be incorporating review from previous units into each session to help him get prepared for his final."
"In this session, we covered a series of review sheets. The first half of the worksheets involved proportions and its applications in similar figures. The second part of the worksheets was about the special triangles, Pythagorean theorem and trigonometric functions. Overall, the student did very well."
"The student had another piece of long review homework. This one consisted of lots of multistep geometry problems. The questions would ask for the area or the perimeter and there would be several steps that she would need to do first. At first, she struggled a little bit putting all the steps together to get to the answer but by the end of the session she had gotten the hang of the problems. These problems were challenging and overall I think Nicole did pretty well. She also told me that her teacher had noticed her improvement in the subject."
"We went over her homework on circles and tangent lines. She initially had trouble but understood the material well enough by the end of lesson to complete the homework problems. We completed most of the homework and advised her to do the rest as soon as possible and review them. I wish her the best of luck with her Geometry class."
"The student has her test on Wednesday and a quiz Tuesday. So, we reviewed all the shapes we have been focusing on again, such as volume and surface area of prisms and various shapes. We worked on two review sheets given in her class. Her mother has told me she has been making improving grades. This is great news! I'm hoping she can keep it up. After the conclusion of our session I told the student to rework the problems we went over and which problems I thought were most important. I am sending the unfinished review questions to her mother."
