Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered Macroeconomics group homework, which was a multi-part word problem about concepts related to exchange rates and currency markets in different types of economies. The student did pretty well with the homework concepts despite not having read the relevant chapter, and during the tutoring session we did some quick explanation of concepts to fill in some gaps. Reading will still be important. Since the reading can seem more basic than the problem sets, it will be important to look for real-world examples where the concepts can be applied and highlight those in notes."
"In our second session, the student and I covered the topics of GDP, CPI, and the various calculations associated with the analysis of both. We discussed measuring GDP through the consumption formula (C+I+G+NX) and the income method. In addition, we discussed nominal vs. real GDP and the technique for calculating inflation associated with these concepts. Finally, we reviewed the formula for calculating current price of goods purchased in the past, using CPI and the analysis we can draw from those calculations. She was very receptive of these new topics and continued her positive attitude exhibited in our first session. She is a great student, I have full confidence she will continue to succeed!"
"We had a great session and focused on a homework assignment that was related to research on current real GDP statistics. I provided the student with direction on where to begin her search, and she collected current data on real GDP, growth rates, as well as the components of real GDP. We also discussed the overall concept and definition of real GDP. It was a good session."
