"The student and I talked about her plans to study for the GRE, which she wants to take early next year, and decided to focus on the verbal section of the GRE for now. Since this was my first time working with the student, we worked through online practice problems aloud and also took some time to look at the online resource, which lets you study common GRE words. The thing that is causing the most problems for her is just the number of unfamiliar words on the test-- she is great at using strategies like process of elimination and using the sentence structure to figure out the meaning of the word that should go in the blank. I recommended that she read through some of the verbal section in her study book and work through some of the practice questions. I would also advise that she focus in particular on the section of the book that talks about word prefixes, since this is something that she finds helpful. The more vocabulary words she is able to pick up before her test date, the better she will do, and I think she will do great!"
"The student and I finished the GRE Math practice test. We covered data, probability, permutations, and word problems. She has made great progress in all areas and I think she will do well on her exam tomorrow!"
"We reviewed the exercises for arithmetic, algebra, and geometry and did some additional geometry work."
