Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student was into the new computer activities today. His reading and comprehension skills are improving; he is able to follow a story. He is able to recognize words in the text and he can summarize what is going on in English. So far he can repeat "What's your name?" and "How old are you?" Even though he doesn't yet feel comfortable with sentences, he does understand many yes/no questions in context. (Do you like apples? Do you have a dog?)"
"I provided the student with five different oral quizzes to test various things she learned throughout all sessions; I read five different monologues I prepared and then asked her questions, to which she had to respond in complete sentences. She performed okay, but her lack of comprehension of various vocabulary terms indicates that she is not studying or practicing enough. For the end of the session, I asked her to describe herself using various vocab and grammar learned thus far and she performed well and is able to say basic phrases in French and hold a basic conversation."
"We covered topics ranging from free time, clothing, conditions to traveling, hotels and choice of social events. The student has very good comprehension and expresses herself very well. Some mispronunciations and correct wording were worked on. I will get back to her on some of the more complex expressions."
