"The student was working on electrostatic forces and equilibrium; in particular, problems about where electric forces along a line balance out. He is a sharp student and picked up the basic concepts pretty quickly (the algebra was actually the trickiest part to these)."
"I provided two binders full of detailed outlines of each chapter for the textbook the student is using for Bio AP test that is coming in a couple of months. Her mother mentioned that the student is not studying outside of her class as much, so I reminded the student that it is critical for her to study at least 2-3 times outside of the class to keep up with the materials."
"We covered a tiny bit of acid naming (oxyacids... ic acid comes from ate ending) and went over buffers and common ion effect problems. We saw an application of Henderson-Hasselbalch equation and looked at how to tell if a salt solution is acidic or basic (and how to calculate that with numbers). We started to look at titrations again. The student told me that she got a B+ on her last test! Next time we will probably do more with titrations."
