"Today we covered the topic of momentum--specifically elastic and inelastic collisions in 1 and 2 dimensions. She asked several incisive clarification questions. She is becoming quite adept at identifying relevant equations and paying close attention to detail. She is not a passive receptacle, but an active and critical thinker. She seems to be keeping up well with the course content, as the 8 problems we worked with today were clearly some of the tougher problems in her problem set."
"We went over Lewis dot structures, bonding and anatomy of atoms. We also spent time speaking about test prep: anxiety, preparation, habits and other factors contributing to success on exams. The student had a great attitude and was eager to learn. We talked about resources like textbooks and online resources. We also spoke about the importance of truly understanding the concepts when practicing."
"We covered the chemistry of acids and bases, precipitation reactions, redox reactions and concentration conversions (e.g. molarity, density). Strategies included identifying patterns of precipitation and a study plan for material that needed to be memorized."
