Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we practiced more clock problems and also practiced copying angles. Further, we discussed the different properties, such as the Reflexive Property and the Transitive Property. Then we reviewed the definitions of shapes. We ended with practicing proofs from Chapter 3."
"The student and I finished a homework worksheet on proofs for congruent triangles. She was able to work through the material with minimal help from me. After working on her homework, I showed her how to use her new calculator. We went over the different functions of the calculator, mostly graphs."
"Today we spent an hour going over the student's worksheets. The worksheets were on exponential growth/decay problems and logarithms. He understood the material and didn't have any problems solving the questions."
"We reviewed basic vocabulary terms via flash cards, and then completed the student's homework assignment. Topics discussed included SSS, SAS, AAS, and ASA triangle congruencies, vertical angles, CPCTC, and properties of isosceles triangles. We have begun the process of reviewing basic vocabulary terms at the beginning of each session. The hope is that this will help boost her mathematics foundation."
"I held the first session with the student today. I went over my teaching method and course of action from here on out. We agreed that it would be best to review topics that he has learned in school instead of learning new topics ahead of time. We went over different types of angles including complementary, supplementary, corresponding, alternate, and vertical angles. We also went over homework assignments of the same. The student was very cooperative and did not have issues doing the work."
"We worked on finding the area and perimeter of trapezoids, rhombuses, and kites. The student showed great progress over the course of the lesson using the strategies we went over. The way we went about doing problems was by writing down formulas and plugging in until something useful happened."
