Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Like the previous day, we spent this session working through one of the essay and multiple choice passages from the exam. She seems to be doing a great job writing with this content area. Her writing was much more fluent than it had been for her last test; when she did make errors, she self-corrected ably. It was great to see how she was still putting into practice the writing strategies we had discussed over the summer. One area we did discuss was time management. We spent a solid hour in this session on one essay question; during the test, she will need to write that essay in 15 minutes. She is hopeful that she will be able to keep to the time on test day. I suggested that she write some more practice questions and send me her answers, which she agreed to do. Hopefully she will be able to get some additional practice in."
"Worked 50-50 verbal and quant. We are stumbling on the probability and standard deviation areas of quant, so will start our next session with a mini-lecture on quantitative analysis. The student is doing well on sentence construction, parallelism of verbs/pronouns/lists. I asked him to complete the problem sets by the day after tomorrow."
"We covered governmental accounting revenue recognition, some financial reporting issues, the CAFR, and the modified accrual basis of accounting."
