Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Tonight we studied for the student's math test using the teacher's worksheets as well as one that I made for him. We worked on his French review sheet for his quiz tomorrow. Also, I gave him a practice sheet of Direct and Indirect Objects for him to use to review tonight or tomorrow morning with his mother."
"We worked together on some problems from the student's review that he knew he was having the most issues with. For both of those types of problems, I wrote out a list of steps for solving them, and gave them to him. He'll finish doing the review before the test and study the two sets of steps so that he can do those types of problems if they come up on the test."
"We reviewed his current organizational structure, and different methods of organization for the paper that he is writing. We then examined which method would work best, and how to take the work that he had already completed and use it in a better organizational way."
"Worked on arguments about Romeo and Juliet and love, and who is most responsible for the tragedy, including reviewing possible ways to interpret the question, and various possible responses and the evidence for the them."

"This session, only two of the five girls were present. I took this opportunity to go more in depth regarding the SAT. I think the girls really benefited from going through and solving example problems. We did not have the opportunity to go over the essay portion of the SAT; we only went through sample problems from the last three sections. Therefore, next time we will spend a significant portion of the time working on the essay section of the essay SAT and then go further in depth regarding strategies for the other sections."
"The tutoring session was very productive and the client said that she appreciated my help. We went over real estate math concepts such as calculating total commissions, sales prices and percentage rates. Also, we addressed interest rates and the calculation of loan amounts. We spent the majority of the session applying the concepts to direct math problems that she has been given from the real estate program."
"Today we went over the last section that we hadn't covered yet- Math. We went over test taking strategies, tips, and types of math problems that you would encounter on the test. Throughout we completed example practice questions. Then we ended with a timed 25 min Math section. After- we went over the answers, analyzing the best ways to answer various questions. We finished with a quick vocab review."
"The student and I reviewed her incorrect answers on the quantitative portion of the practice GRE, then completed the geometry review section from the math review and began work on the statistics and probability portion."
"We discussed an article about a chef who opened a very unique restaurant in New York City. We learned vocabulary and grammar related to talking about good and bad food and restaurants."
"Today we reviewed the student's homework, as well as studied for his history test the following day. We were able to complete homework for literature, math, and science, then moved on to the study guide for his test."
"We covered many subjects today including more studying for the student's upcoming Amendments test, Spanish vocabulary, and some math study as well. We also practiced annotating for a book he is reading. He has a good grasp on all subjects and looks confident with all the work his teachers assign him."
