Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session we covered material for the student's exam on wave functions and manipulating trigonometric properties. We focused more on how to find the solutions of non-standard trigonometric functions over a set range as well as how to simplify trigonometric functions using the laws of angle addition/subtraction and double angle theorems. She was well prepared and grasped the new material quickly and was able to solve the practice problems after some examples. She was also able to complete the missing questions on her review including some of the challenge problems. She says she felt more confident in her abilities after the session with the gaps in knowledge filled and more practice done. I feel she has a good grasp of the subject and will be able to do well on her test."
"We went first over his last quiz in parametric equations to solve the problems and gain understanding. We also went over his test preparation. I provided a book that will help him familiarize better with the concepts and problem solving skills."
"The student and I began covering vectors. We talked about vectors as representations of locations and how to write them in both component (x/y) and bearing form. We worked on adding vectors and applying the laws of sines and cosines. We practiced problems from a worksheet."
"We covered trigonometry: finding exact value, radian/degree conversions, graphing trigonometric function, and naming the quadrants."
"Pre-Calculus- We covered synthetic division, end behaviors of polynomials, and multiplying factors to get to the final polynomial. The student had a great attitude and was willing to learn. We went over many practice problems, and she seemed to really understand the information after we reviewed it. She is very interested in learning and improving."
"We covered how to graph trigonometric functions today. The student is able to solve the amplitude, period, phase shift, asymptote and terminal points for functions. We did 4 practice problems and she understood all the questions."
