Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on all the things you can find out about a function. We worked on the concepts of relative min and max especially in their relation to derivatives and also talked briefly about inflection points. Although the one function we looked at took the entire session, I feel very good about his ability to follow the steps and understand the concepts for his test."
"We reviewed topics on integration techniques, arc length, surface area, and rotations about an axis."
"We mainly focused on reviewing the integration part of trigonometry. The student was able to do most of the integration by u-substitution. We also worked on some of the integration that required the application of the trig identities before using the u-substitution. Some of the tricks involve multiplying the conjugates. We are now working with the trig identities and also memorizing the three main inverse trig differentiation and integration formulas, along with the patterns."
"We finished the remaining homework assignments which focused on summing geometric sequences and proof by induction. The student needs to review both of these concepts, but I'm sure she'll have mastery of them in no time."
"The student and I worked on the review packet to prepare for her chapter 5 test. In particular, we focused on the routines she would need to use to solve the three types of problems presented in this chapter."
"I helped the student work through challenges he was facing solving certain types of problems. The problems were about solving families of 2 equations. The methods included graph sketching, substitution and elimination of a variable. Then we looked at new work which was Gaussian elimination for 3 equations. He is an attentive student, and he seems to catch on quickly."
