"Tonight, we covered "waves" related to earthquake waves, ocean waves that "refract" at a discontinuity, and waves that produce a "beat frequency." We also did some problems involving decibels and sound intensities, and problems involving the Doppler effect, both of moving observers and moving sources."
"We went over the remaining topics to be covered on the midterm (effect sizes, levels of measurement, normal distributions, positive/negative skews, and more) and did some practice questions. Everything looks good for a strong exam performance."
"We covered specific heat and endothermic and exothermic reactions. Endothermic reactions had reactants with less energy than products while exothermic reaction had reactants with more energy than reactants. We learned that equations need to have the same units on both sides. We used dimensional analysis to see what units cancelled each other out. Then whatever unit remained was the unit used for the answer. We also covered experimental error. The student has improved on using the right units and dimensional analysis. Student was enthusiastic about learning, especially when she was able to do problems on her own. I did not leave any extra practice because teacher gave enough practice. Student was not struggling with anything today. Student did not have anything graded since last time we met."
