Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today was a Pre-Calc day. We reviewed the concept of inverse trig functions and the method of converting the inverse co-secant, secant, and cotangent to the inverse sine, cosine, and tangent, respectively. We also went over the domains and ranges of inverse trig functions and how to solve trig equations with and without a specified range. Finally, we reviewed how to graph inverse trig functions."
"Today we focused on learning how to solve trigonometric functions (5.3) and looking at different ways to solve problems. We were even able to work towards starting the new homework for the week. I believe doing the assignments early helps to keep her ahead in her studies. We will practice more on solving these equations next week."
"Today we reviewed the topic of Markov Chains and probability. We made progress on how to set up the transition matrix and used tree diagrams as tools to help us solve the problems. We also had a lot of practice on the calculator with doing matrix operations."
"Today we went over finding the exponent and figuring out exponential equations from graphs. We also started looking at logarithmic functions. We applied some logarithmic laws and graphed some logarithmic growth equations. The student seemed to grasp the subject matter well."
"Today, the student and I went over graphing sine and cosine functions. We also reviewed how to write cosine and sine equations when given an amplitude and period. A few homework assignments regarding these topics were completed. The student is improving since our first meeting, but needs to be reviewing past concepts (unit circle, trig functions) to stay up to date with all the new material. He has a quiz and test next week, which we will continue to study for on Sunday."
"The student needed to conduct practice of conics problems with formula review. I included techniques to identify key concepts and aspects of each equation."
