Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I met to review his homework for the week - exponential growth and decay. He had a very good handle on the concepts and with a few tips from me he felt confident in tackling all of the problems."
"The student and I reviewed sections 6.5-6.7 in her textbook for an upcoming exam. We focused mostly on graphing linear inequalities with both an x and y. We then did some review of concepts such as calculating means, determining median, and solving problems that involve absolute value."
"In preparation for our next session, the student will email a list of topics that he found difficult from the diagnostic tests online. I will prepare the appropriate lesson plan to cover those specific topics."
"We worked on solving equations using factoring. The student was challenged to remember what he'd learned about factoring in chapter 8, along with how to solve regular algebraic equations from chapter 2. He'll work on several of these problems for homework and if he still has questions, we'll talk more about it next time."
"We covered review material for the final exam. It emphasized lines, slope and graphing, as well as systems of equations, square roots, decimals and percentage. Systems of equations seem to be the most trouble, and we will continue to review accordingly."
"This was the last session with the student for the semester, we spent all our session discussing and preparing for her Algebra final. We covered most of the topics of her semester and used her Algebra final review as a guide. The student is doing well in Algebra and I think she will do fine in this exam."
