"We continued work on student's paper. She has 7 pages now and we went through the introduction, historical background and first paragraph of the topic. Student is struggling with the coherent sentence construction and basic grammar. I read out loud every sentence and discussed how we could make it better, what we are trying to convey in comparison to what the student has written on her own. She will continue to make changes and we will continue tomorrow. She is doing great overall."
"We worked on finding articles for the paper that is due on Friday. We ended up using a few articles from non-profit websites upon thorough discussion with the student. We then discussed key points. She was to work on the paper after my departure."
"In this session, the student and I covered post-World War II history through President Eisenhower. We also covered the details of the legislative branch. She understands the concepts but struggles to find ways to remember the small details. She finds U.S. History interesting but does feel overwhelmed by the amount of material and scope. It was helpful to show videos to visually explain U.S. history/government. We will be meeting again on Sunday and will continue to work on these two subjects."
