Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on: pronunciation, different uses of the present tense, and reading. The student had one assignment to work on before our next meeting."
"We practiced drills covering noun plurals, combined with pronunciation exercises; assignment planned for continuing lessons."
"Today, the students and I read two German books and discussed them. Student A had a long conversation with me about the books, and Student B said a couple of words from the books. Then, they named things around the apartment. I noticed a lot of improvement in both children's vocabulary and understanding of what I was asking."
"I guided the student as she created possible answers to different scenarios for her speaking finals. She did a good job of coming up with ideas and just needs to review irregular verb conjugations and when to use which article."
"We started our session by reviewing colors in Japanese. We also wrote them out in Japanese so that the student can practice using hiragana more. We then went over YoOn which are combination sounds, such as kya (ki+ya=kya). He now knows how to write out every single Japanese sound in Hiragana, which is great!"
"The student's Spanish final is tomorrow, so today we reviewed some concepts for the exam. These included ser vs. estar in present and past tenses, double object pronouns, the preterite form of some irregular -ir ending verbs, and the reflexive verbs vestirse and despedirse. We reviewed each concept separately and then completed a series of corresponding exercises. There is also a written component (about the student's summer plans) to tomorrow's exam, so we did some brainstorming and vocabulary building and then worked on a draft of what the student might write about tomorrow in class. All in all, he seems to have a good grasp of the material and I think he'll do well on his test."
