"We talked about elasticities. Graphs and visuals seem to really help, and he seems to have a pretty good intuitive sense of elasticities now. We will probably go through more of the math, and consider different cases next time. He was focused and definitely put in effort, which was much appreciated."
"The student and I spent the first half of the session on economics and the second half on statistics. In economics, we practiced calculating internal rate of return (IRR) and using it to pick the best investment or loan option. In statistics, we went over examples of discrete distributions, including binomial and Poisson. We calculated mean, variance, and standard deviation for both and practiced examples of how to calculate probabilities in each case."
"Today we covered review of fiscal policy versus monetary policy, tools of fiscal policy, multipliers, value versus utility and automatic stabilizers."
