Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In the first session, we reviewed the homework packets she had on genetics, and then moved on to some of the material about the structure of DNA. We also very briefly touched on DNA replication."
"The student and I reviewed for his test this week. We went over the properties for transformations, composition of transformations, construction of transformations, symmetry, and how to determine similarity of figures. He knew all of the material and the concepts."
"Today we focused all of our time on her test review; she has a test on quadrilaterals on Thursday. We reviewed angle measurements and solving for variable x, the properties of quadrilaterals, the sums of interior angles, and point location. Once the we established what the problem was asking, and determined the correct method, she could easily compute the answer. I advised her to study the sums, properties, and to remember that angles have to add up."
"Today the student and I worked on sections 12.1 and 12.2. He was alert when working on the sections and seemed to be able to understand the concepts. Since we were working with circles and how to interpret arcs, angles, and chords, he was able to solve the majority of equations. We went back and reworked several questions from both sections as well as reviewed his electronic textbook. I also gave a brief lesson on sections 12.3 which had to do with inscribed angles in circles. He and his mother informed me that he currently received a 70% on his Chapter 5 test which is an improvement and it brings his grade to a C average."
"Today, we have completed a review for a coming exam on the "Classification of triangles. " We classified triangles by the sides and by the angles. We determined the values of the interior angles in a triangle using the Interiors Angle Theorem. Also, we calculated a value of an exterior angle using the Exteriors Value Theorem. Next, we determined the value of the interior angle that is given in terms of x. Lastly, we simplified the derived answers in radical form by rationalizing the denominator."
"The student has some geometry homework we worked on as well as reviewed some biology today. She is covering transcription and translation now. We went over the different parts as well as the terms and process."
