Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued discussing the algorithms project and reviewing an implementation of an AVL tree with lazy deletion. We also reviewed the recent computer architecture test."
"We discussed the mechanisms and coding patterns needed for basic ajax calls. We talked about JSON, generating it in PHP, how this is related to database queries, and how to process all of this in the browser. Examples were provided throughout."
"In this session, the student and I reviewed a couple of assignments in C++. We went over what data types were (such as int, double, string, and char) as well as how to write to standard output and read to standard input using cout and cin. In the last 20 minutes of the session however, the student showed me some of the powerpoints from class and we realized that he's supposed to be programming in C (not C++). The good thing about this is that both languages are very similar. However, he does have to alter the code we worked on. I told him to read over the slides and to download the C compiler for our next session tomorrow. Hopefully, tomorrow we can get most of his assignments done in the correct programming language."
