Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We corrected her most recent quizzes and worked on practice problems. Her quiz grades are slightly improved."
"Covered final math topics for final. Went over slope, equations of lines, systems of equations, and probability."
"We basically spent the time working through a few pages of a workbook his parents got for him which has some slight overlap with the topics that will be covered on his exam. We have plenty of time to cover the topics. He's quick to pick up the subjects and is enthusiastic about trying more advanced problems."
"The student jumped right into his homework, which was long division with money units in the dividend. That is a type of problem that takes a long time. He finished two problems."
"We covered benchmark material for math and reading comprehension. In math we covered interpreting graphs, identity and commutative properties, and adding and subtracting fractions. We talked about math strategies generally and the student was given a writing assignment for practice. I think she is bright and with a focus on traditional subject matter, will be successful."
"The student and I reviewed her previous fractions assessment. We completed test corrections together and I offered a new strategy for her to take her time on her tests. Her teacher agreed to follow my suggestion of "chunking" her tests and only giving her one page at a time to complete. This will automatically slow her down and keep her reading closely on the entire test. We then focused on her current unit of decimals and place value. She was successful with representing decimals as money and also drawing decimals using place value blocks. She would benefit from more practice with representing decimals on a number line. We will continue to work on this."
