Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Tonight, we went over the student's study guide for his big exam tomorrow. Most of the exam should be on the recent material, which he is pretty confident with, but some of the exam will touch on material from earlier in the semester. We reviewed a lot of the older material, and it came back pretty quickly for him. He seems to be doing pretty well, so I wish him the best!"
"We spent the first hour and 20 minutes reviewing the student's most recent test, preparing for his quiz, and then refining/reviewing his notecards for his English quiz tomorrow. We always get a lot done! In the remaining 40 minutes, he finished his homework on factoring, and I briefly introduced what I assume will be the next lesson in his factoring unit."
"During this session we worked through a science worksheet based on calculating distance traveled given acceleration. It was a fun exercise and demonstrated the properties of acceleration well. For the last part of the session I had the student go over a history presentation due in a few days."
"The student had completed most of her homework upon my arrival today, and was about 75% accurate, which is an improvement. The course work has progressed from simple graphing to identifying transformations."
"We reviewed and completed word problems with isosceles triangles. We also reviewed problems for simplifying radicals. The student then completed lengthy problems utilizing factoring and the quadratic formula. We reviewed how to use the discriminant to determine the number of solutions for quadratic functions. The student likes solving problems using the quadratic formula."
"The student and I went over his homework assignments on factoring quadratic equations and finding roots of quadratic equations. He has a good grasp on this procedure, and I expect him to do very well on his test tomorrow. Test strategies of showing all work, checking solutions, and avoiding doing multiple calculations in his head were covered. His grade in class is continuing to show improvement."
