Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student reviewed geometrical shapes and negative numbers for her upcoming exam on Wednesday. She appeared to know the subject material. I think she will do well on the exam."
"Student one: completed math homework and reviewed practice quiz for simplifying and dividing polynomials. Student two: studied Spanish for the quiz on Wednesday and studied more on the Civil War for the history test."
"We covered how to find the surface area of nets, prisms, pyramids, and cylinders. The student did very well using the formulas to find the surface area."
"For this session the student and I focused on studying for his upcoming test next Wednesday. We focused on studying and deriving the domain and range of a function, as well as graphing functions and transformations of variables. We also looked at how to derive equations in terms of the function of x and y and how to solve them."
"We went through the student's test and made corrections to what was missed. The test was on kinematics in one dimension (acceleration, time, velocity). He was able to work through the problems and find his mistakes with some guidance. We worked on a worksheet that was about forces in 1 dimension."
"The student has a quiz this upcoming Wednesday - so we reviewed the concepts that the quiz will cover: sets, set notation, interval notation, linear equations and all its various forms (point-slope, point-intercept, standard), inequalities and graphical representations, and functions (domain, range). Overall, he is doing great - he has no trouble understanding concepts, which is complemented well by his ability to ask questions immediately when he doesn't understand something. This mental attitude should serve as a strength for his learning process."
