Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I completed an overview of science topics for the final tomorrow. Began review of math concepts; covered Pythagorean's Theorem, area and perimeter."
"Today the student and I did math homework. The student has an assessment tomorrow, so we did practice study guides for that. After doing the two study guides we worked on his "Coat of Arms" project."
"The student and I reviewed finding X percent of a number as well as what number is X percent of another number. We finished all of her homework."
"The student and I had a really productive session. The student is preparing for achievement testing. As a result, we worked on multiple testing items. We began the session by talking about testing strategies and how to implement them. After discussing testing strategies, we worked on different aspects of what she may see on the tests, and the different difficulties based on the score ranges. We got a lot of work in and covered a lot of topics. She expressed that she feels more prepared for the test which is a positive sign."
"It was a pleasure working with the student today. I helped her study for her quiz on Tuesday. We followed the outline given to her by her teacher. We reviewed the following topics: - writing quadratic equations in factored form and in vertex (graphing) form, given standard form, - writing quadratic equations in standard form, given factored form, - graphing a quadratic equation in standard form, vertex form, and factored form, and - writing an equation of a parabola from a graph. She was familiar with most of the material, but needed prompting and review. She has a positive attitude. She was very receptive and seemed to understand the material I was teaching her. She took notes, did practice problems, and wrote down steps for doing the problems."
"We studied for a test the student was taking on Wednesday. We covered graphing parabolas, working with imaginary numbers, and word problems involving maximum and minimum values. I think he has a pretty good grasp of the material."
